Indiana: New criminal background check rules go into effect for home health workers

July 1, 2018

On March 23, 2018, Governor Holcomb signed Senate Bill 301. The law allows individuals seeking to register to provide attendant care services to provide an expanded criminal history check to satisfy other background check requirements. The expanded criminal background check may not include information about the individual that occurred before they were 18 years old and information that is restricted by a state where the individual previously resided.
The new law becomes effective on July 1, 2018.
