Georgia: New background check requirements for long-term care employees go into effect

October 1, 2019

On May 7, 2018, Governor Deal signed Senate Bill 406. The law establishes criminal background check standards for owners, applicants for employment, and employees providing care or owning personal care homes, assisted living communities, private home care providers, home health agencies, hospice care, nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, or adult day cares.

The new law becomes effective on October 1, 2019.
